Vidarbha

An ancient historical region corresponding roughly to the eastern part of present-day Maharashtra, India. In classical literature and the Mahabharata, it is associated with lost kingdoms and forgotten glory. Das calls it a “dark city,” using it to evoke civilisations that have been swallowed by time.
